Taxes, duties and levies are
why Indians pay more

This chart looks at the break-up of diesel prices in India and Pakistan. That is, how much gets paid in (a) taxes and duties, as well as (b) the commission charged by the dealer. It also includes the (c) the price paid by oil marketing companies (OMC) as India's Hindustan Petroleum and Pakistan State Oil to petroleum refiners and (d) OMC margins .
