Major parties in Manipur 1967-2012

The INC (Indian National Congress) has been the dominant force in Manipur politics since the state's first election in 1967. In fact, the last legislative election in 2012 saw the INC grab its largest ever share of seats with 70%. The MSCP (Manipur State Congress Party) was briefly a force with around 40% of seats in the 2000 election, but it has faded since.
